The FestungsBahn funicular is in operation in December:

Monday - Sunday: 9.00 am - 8:30 pm: last ascent at 8:30 pm, last descent at 9:00 pm (except during events)
24 December 2025 last ascent at 5:00 pm | 31 December 2025 last ascent at 5:00 pm
Revision in January from 12.01.2026 up to and including 30.01.2026

January - März, November

9.00 am - 5.00 pm

The FestungsBahn will be out of service during the following periods due to the legally required overhaul:

Revision in November from 03.11.2025 up to and including 07.11.2025
The FestungsBahn will be closed during the overhaul from 12 January 2026 to 30 January 2026.

April, October, December

9.00 am - 8.30 pm

Christmas and New Year's Eve:

24 December: 09.00 am - 05.00 pm
31 December: 09.00 am - 05.00 pm (after that, rides up the fortress are only possible for restaurant and concert guests).

May, September

8.30 am - 8.30 pm

June, July, August

8.30 am - 9.30 pm
