The FestungsBahn funicular is in operation daily from 09.00 am - 08.30 pm.

During events at the Festung Hohensalzburg (e.g. fortress concerts), the FestungsBahn is in operation for a correspondingly longer period of time.

During the following period, the FestungsBahn funicular will be out of service:
Revision in January from 08.01.2024 to 19.01.2024

9.00 am - 5.00 pm

April

9.00 am - 6.00 pm

9.00 am - 8.30 pm

Christmas and New Year's Eve:

24 December: 09.00 am - 07.00 pm
31 December: 09.00 am - 05.00 pm (after that, rides up the fortress are only possible for restaurant and concert guests).

May to September

8.30 am - 9.30 pm
