Opened in 2004, Museum der Moderne Salzburg on the Mönchsberg has definitely raised the bar in the art community. On a total space of 2300 m², contemporary and modern art pieces of international renown as well as works from their own collection are shown in rotating exhibitions.
The MönchsbergAufzug lift will carry you up the museum in only 30 seconds.
International art treasures from the 20th and 21st centuries are exhibited on four floors. The puristic exhibition spaces excite visitors from around the world. The glass-walled staircases with view of the 19th century water tower as well as the exterior cladding of the building with local marble from the Untersberg represent very special architectural highlights.
