Salzburg AG Tourismus GmbH is one of the leading companies in the Austrian tourism sector. A wholly owned subsidiary of Salzburg AG, the company operates five unique attractions: the SchafbergBahn cog railway and WolfgangseeSchifffahrt ferries in the Salzkammergut region, as well as the FestungsBahn funicular, MönchsbergAufzug lift as well as WasserSpiegel Museum in the city of Salzburg. In 2024, the company’s team of around 130 employees transported approximately 3.8 million passengers. Its tourism portfolio is further enhanced by two restaurants: Café & Restaurant EQ, which opened in 2023 at the new base station of the Schafberg Railway and Himmelspforte, located on the Schafberg summit. In addition, the company manages the lease of the Hotel Schafbergspitze - Austria’s oldest mountain hotel - situated at the top of the Schafberg.
