Travel like back in imperial times. From 01 July until 27 August 2023, the nostalgic paddle steamer "Kaiser Franz Josef I." will be sailing on Lake Wolfgangsee.

Nostalgia Rides with "Kaiser Franz Josef I."

Ferries have been running on Lake Wolfgangsee since imperial times. In 1873, the paddle steamer "Kaiser Franz Josef I." was launched. This 33-meter-long ship with its powerful paddle-wheels was regarded as a major technological achievement in its day. Now as then, this photogenic vintage ship shuttles between the towns of St. Wolfgang and St. Gilgen, and is one of the fleet's main attractions.
