Welcome to the Himmelspforte refuge!
The Himmelspforte refuge with its spectacular location directly on the steep north face of the Schafberg is certainly one of the most photographed mountain huts in the Salzkammergut.
You can easily reach the hut after a 10-minute walk from the SchafbergBahn mountain station. Many hiking trails also lead from St. Wolfgang and St. Gilgen to the Schafberg and Himmelspforte.
The former alpine farm is now home to a snack station, where we spoil you with typical regional dishes.
On the beautiful panoramic terrace you can enjoy the breathtaking view and recharge your batteries. How about a hearty Brettljause or a traditional Kaiserschmarren?
It also gets stormy in the fall! We serve Sturm and Most as well as autumnal delicacies.
