The MönchsbergAufzug is a 60 m tall lift inside the rock of the Mönchsberg, performing its duty now for over 130 years. In 30 seconds, it carries you from the Salzburg historic district up to this extensive green oasis. 

The Mönchsberg beckons you to enjoy outdoor exercise such as walking or jogging in combination with culinary stops and cultural forays. You are guaranteed fantastic views of the city of Mozart. One of the the most spectacular photo points awaits you here.

The Mönchsberg is popular among tourists and locals. You can quickly and easily reach the top by elevator and relax on the city hill surrounded by greenery.  

The green meadows, forests, old fortifications and castles offer a contrast to the hustle and bustle of the city of Mozart. But during the walk you have the city firmly in view: The views of the old town, such as Salzburg Cathedral or the Getreidegasse, are spectacular.

The valley station is located at Gstättengasse 13 in Salzburg. From there, up to 17 persons can travel the 60-meter route at the same time.Four-legged friends are also welcomed: leashed dogs with a muzzle can travel free of charge.  The lift reaches its destination at the mountain station at 485 meters above sea level.
