FEEL-GOOD ARCHITECTURE WITH BROAD VIEWS

With its modern architecture and balanced mix of glass, wood, and steel, Café & Restaurant EQ creates a sense of absolute well-being. The shed-style roof not only provides sensational views of the surrounding mountain world but also allows for light-filled, bright spaces. The heart and highlight of the restaurant is the spacious, covered lake terrace, which is perfect for relaxation in combination with culinary enjoyment. Wolfgangsee connoisseurs actually claim it is the most beautiful terrace on the entire lake! It's always exciting for the little ones to watch the mountain lifts gliding in and out of the lower level as they eat.

DELICIOUS REGIONALITY WITH AN INTERNATIONAL TOUCH

And what's on the menu at the new EQ? Dishes that would likely have appealed to Austrian nobility “back in the day”, but given a whole new, and quite irresistible interpretation! Chef Mario Köstl serves delicious, classic Salzkammergut cuisine which, like himself, has a certain international touch. Fresh lake fish, the finest meat from the region, and Alpine-style tapas. But also light vegetarian dishes, vegan bowls, and dishes that are ultra child-friendly. And always with seasonal ingredients from local farmers as well as products from regional partners. Simply delicious!

MARIO KÖSTL - A STYRIAN IN THE SALZKAMMERGUT

The head chef at Restaurant EQ is Styrian native Mario Köstl. Mario's journey began with classic culinary training in Styria, followed by seven years of seasonal work across Austria, stints in Sydney and Washington, before finally returning to Vienna and then Upper Austria. In recent years, the culinary cosmopolitan has discovered his love for Salzkammergut cuisine in St. Wolfgang and Bad Goisern.

Now, as the chef at Café & Restaurant EQ, Mario Köstl looks forward to delighting and surprising his guests with classics such as schnitzel or fried chicken, as well as dishes such as masala with beetroot or creations such as langos with black pudding. And who knows, perhaps Mario's favorite dish - potato salad with pumpkinseed oil - will also find its way onto the menu, depending upon the season of course.
