Advent is approaching. And SchafbergBahn cog railway has already set the course: Advent magic at 1,364 meters above sea level guarantees the highest of emotions. The WolfgangseeSchifffahrt ferries, the FestungsBahn funicular,, the interactive Museum WasserSpiegel and the MönchsbergAufzug lift promise contemplative experiences during the Christmas season - for young and old visitors alike.

Christmas locomotive with a Christmas look

From November 21 to December 21 and from December 26 to January 6, the SchafbergBahn takes its guests along the wintry route to the Schafbergalm station at 1,364 meters. For the first time, an entire train set is decorated for Christmas and many, many small lights turn the entire SchafbergBahn into a festive attraction. Once you arrive at the Schafbergalm, there is plenty to discover: an Adventshop, Christmas post and fantastic views of the wintry Salzkammergut. On the Advent weekends, there is also a magical supporting program for young and old.

The WolfgangseeSchifffahrt ferries set course for Advent

The boats shuttle between the towns of St. Gilgen, St. Wolfgang and Strobl from November 21st - December 21st and from December 26th - January 6th. A contemplative experience that is sure to be a hit with the whole family.

LANTERN CRUISE DURING ADVENT

Wonderful lantern boat trips will be offered again in 2025. It goes around the 16-meter-high lantern of peace. On board, a music group plays and a narrator reads poems and stories about the Christmas season.

Advent market in the ExperienceQuarter

In the new valley station of the SchafbergBahn, a small, fine Advent market with lovely stands from regional exhibitors awaits you for the first time this year. A children's workshop, atmospheric live music and delicacies from Café & Restaurant EQ invite you to linger.
