Advent is approaching. And SchafbergBahn cog railway has already set the course: Advent magic at 1,364 meters above sea level guarantees the highest of emotions. The WolfgangseeSchifffahrt ferries, the FestungsBahn funicular,, the interactive Museum WasserSpiegel and the MönchsbergAufzug lift promise contemplative experiences during the Christmas season - for young and old visitors alike.
The new EQ restaurant in the valley station of the SchafbergBahn offers a unique setting for a brilliant turn of the year.
Along the wintry route, the SchafbergBahn brings its guests to the Schafbergalm station at 1,364 meters from 17 November to 23 December (through Wednesdays - Sundays) as well as from 25 December - 07 January (daily). For the first time, an entire train set is presented with Christmas decorations and many, many small lights make the entire SchafbergBahn a festive attraction. When you arrive at the Schafbergalm, there is a lot to discover: an Advent kiosk, Christmas postcards and stamps, an atmospheric program on all four Advent Weekends and, of course, fantastic views of the wintry Salzkammergut.

The Advent markets in St. Gilgen, Strobl and St. Wolfgang are known and loved far beyond the borders of the Salzkammergut. The journey to all three Advent markets with the WolfgangseeSchifffahrt is a romantic activity. The ferries shuttle between all three towns from 17 November to 23 December (through Wednesdays to Sundays) as well as from 25 December - 07 January daily.

On all four Advent weekends, a romantic Advent market with lots of local arts and crafts, original gift ideas, Christmas delicacies and an entertaining supporting program takes place at Hohensalzburg Fortress.
Wonderful lantern boat trips will be offered again in 2023. It goes around the 16-meter-high lantern of peace. On board, a music group plays and a narrator reads poems and stories about the Christmas season.

The FestungsBahn funicular opens its middle station in Advent and lets its visitors off there, so that you can walk to the WasserSpiegel museum in under 10 minutes. After visiting the museum, the path leads along impressive views of wintry Salzburg to the M32 restaurant, where a € 5.00 voucher (included in the ticket) can be consumed. The MönchsbergAufzug lift takes you back to the old town in just 30 seconds.
